Spring's happy little head...

When Spring weather peaks its happy little head out from behind the heavy winter curtain, something inside of me awakes from its slumber - yawning and stretching.  Looking into the sunlight with squinty, sleepy eyes.  And smiling - so glad to be awake again for a little while.  It makes me ache for small town, southern life.  And taking a car ride down back, country roads on a Sunday afternoon with my sister - sing/shouting country music at the top of our lungs.  And eating crawfish by the pool at my parents' house.  And having a girls' day in Nachitoches with the women on my mom's side of the family.  And planting flowers...unreasonable amounts of flowers...preferably at 513 Melton Dr.  And going weak in the knees for my husband again.  And going swimsuit shopping [even if it has to be a one piece].  And eating my first snow cone of the year.  And painting my nails the hottest shade of pink I can find.  And planning a beach trip with my BFFs and their kids.  And going blonde.  And going for a good run while sing/shouting country music in my head.  And dancing.

And getting ready for the most spectacular time of the year...summer!  Sleeveless shirts.  Pony tails or short haircuts.  The smell of fresh cut grass [even though it makes this allergy-ridden girl sneeze her head off] and sunscreen.  Big floppy hats and sunglasses.  The fantastic relief of the cool, crisp water in a swimming pool at the end of a hot day.  More dancing.  Spring and Summer - my spirits are instantly lifted when I see that they are on their way in!

I'm crankin' up my country music and anticipating the many adventures that Adelle and I will have during our first summer together!  Stay tuned for our "10 Adventures in the Summer of 2010".

And keep on keepin' it down and dirty.  Love ya'll like crazy!
